Terms of Service Privacy Policy Refund Policy

1. Acceptance of these Terms

FramePacker ("FramePacker", "we", "us", "our") operates an online, browser-based video-to-frame animation tool, offered in a free tier and a Pro tier at https://www.framepacker.com (the "Service").

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a legal agreement between you and FramePacker. By creating an account, purchasing a Pro Licence, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

  • Service — the FramePacker website and the frame extraction, editing and export tools made available through it, including the free tier and the Pro tier.
  • Account — the user account you register to use parts of the Service.
  • Pro Licence — a paid entitlement that unlocks Pro features for a defined period (monthly, quarterly, yearly) or, where offered, for the operating life of the Service (a "Lifetime Pro Licence").
  • Activation code — a one-time credential issued by FramePacker that can be redeemed to obtain a Pro Licence.
  • Device — the hardware terminal you use to access the Service. Each device is recognised through a non-reversible device identifier derived from a set of hardware characteristics.
  • Device slot — the maximum number of devices that a single Pro Licence or activation code may be bound to at the same time.
  • Your Content — the videos, images, frames and other materials you process with the Service.

3. Eligibility and minors

You confirm that you have full legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that you will use the Service lawfully and not for any infringing, unlawful or criminal purpose.

If you are under 18 years old, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian: please read these Terms together with them and use the Service only with their consent. A guardian is responsible for the account activity of a minor in their care. If we become aware that a minor is using the Service without the required consent, we may terminate that account.

4. Accounts

4.1 Account ownership and management

The account itself remains the property of FramePacker; you hold a right to use it while the Service operates. We may manage accounts to the extent permitted by law, including restricting, suspending or terminating an account.

4.2 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. Any loss caused by disclosure of your credentials through your own act or omission is your responsibility. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

4.3 Personal use only

An account is for your own individual use. Lending, renting, selling, sharing or otherwise making an account available to anyone else is not permitted. If you do so, you are responsible for the consequences, and we may suspend or terminate the account and void any bound Pro Licence or activation code without compensation.

4.4 Inactive accounts

Non-Pro accounts that have not been used for more than 6 consecutive months may be deleted, in which case you would need to register again. Where possible, we will notify you by email before deleting an inactive account.

5. Pro Licence, activation codes and device binding

5.1 Nature of a Pro Licence

A Pro Licence, and any activation code used to obtain one, is a personal, one-time entitlement that becomes bound to your account once redeemed. It is not transferable and may not be resold. We reserve the right to verify, void or reclaim a Pro Licence. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5.2 Device binding

Using a Pro Licence requires binding it to a device. Device recognition is performed automatically, and each Pro Licence has a limited number of device slots; exceeding that number requires an additional Pro Licence. We recommend keeping your environment stable (browser, operating system and hardware). If a change of environment makes a previously bound device unrecognisable and re-binding becomes necessary, we are not liable, but the device recovery feature inside the Service is available to help you.

5.3 Scope of Pro features

The Pro features available to you are those actually offered by the Service at the time you use it. We may add, adjust or retire Pro features. Where a change would materially affect entitlements you already hold, we will give you reasonable advance notice through an in-Service announcement or our official channels, except where a change is urgent (for example a security fix or a legal compliance requirement).

5.4 Revocation of a Pro Licence

We may revoke a Pro Licence, void an activation code and withdraw Pro features, without compensation, where:

  • (a) the Pro Licence or activation code was obtained through unofficial channels, including theft, forgery or unauthorised resale;
  • (b) the entitlement was obtained or extended by exploiting a bug or using technical means;
  • (c) the Pro Licence or account was used for unauthorised commercial resale, or the account was shared;
  • (d) device recovery operations were performed repeatedly and the pattern was identified as abnormal use;
  • (e) the refund process was abused or defrauded — for example by submitting fraudulent refund claims, repeatedly obtaining refunds for the same entitlement, or by other conduct that seriously disrupts the normal operation of the Service, such as harassing our staff or filing knowingly false complaints.

6. Purchases, pricing, taxes and Merchant of Record

Purchases made on the international site (www.framepacker.com) are sold and processed by Paddle, acting as our reseller and Merchant of Record.

  • When you buy a Pro Licence, your order is placed with Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates), which is the seller of record for that transaction.
  • Paddle handles checkout, payment collection, applicable taxes (such as VAT, GST and sales tax), invoicing, receipts and refunds.
  • The price shown in the Service is indicative. The final price, the currency and any applicable taxes are those displayed by Paddle at checkout before you confirm payment.
  • Your contract for the purchase of the Pro Licence is with Paddle; these Terms govern your use of the Service itself. Paddle's own buyer terms apply in addition to these Terms, and where they concern the purchase transaction itself, Paddle's terms prevail.
  • We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
  • Refunds of purchases made through Paddle are governed by our Refund Policy and are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  1. use the Service for any activity that violates applicable law or regulation;
  2. circumvent, disable or attempt to circumvent any security mechanism, access restriction or licence verification of the Service;
  3. decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to obtain the source code of the Service;
  4. use the content, functionality or algorithms of the Service to develop a product or service that directly competes with it;
  5. access the Service through automated programs, scripts or other abnormal means;
  6. mount attacks on our servers or take any action that could harm the Service; or
  7. otherwise infringe our lawful interests or interfere with other users' normal use of the Service.

If your breach of these Terms causes us to face a third-party claim, administrative penalty or other loss, you must compensate us for all resulting losses, including reasonable legal fees and costs of enforcement.

8. Availability, changes and termination of the Service

We may change, suspend or terminate part or all of the Service in line with our business needs, and we may amend these Terms. Amendments are published within the Service. For material amendments affecting your substantive rights and obligations, we will give you reasonable notice through an in-Service announcement or our official channels. Continuing to use the Service after an amendment takes effect means you accept it; if you do not accept it, you may stop using the Service. If we permanently discontinue the Service, refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

Where maintenance or upgrades temporarily interrupt the Service, we will give reasonable notice, but we are not liable for losses caused by such interruption. We are not liable for interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government or network attacks.

9. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Service — including the software, interface design, image-processing algorithms and trademarks — belong to FramePacker. These Terms grant you no intellectual property rights in the Service. The Service is proprietary and is not an open-source project; free or paid use transfers no ownership of, and grants no licence to, its source code.

Your Content remains yours (or that of the original rights holder). You are responsible for ensuring that you hold all rights necessary to process Your Content. If Your Content infringes a third party's intellectual property, personality, privacy or other lawful rights and this causes us loss, complaints, litigation or claims, you must fully compensate us (including reasonable legal fees and costs of enforcement), and we may immediately suspend or terminate your account.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no express or implied warranty as to the timeliness, security or accuracy of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service. This limitation does not apply where loss results from our wilful misconduct or gross negligence causing personal injury, or where mandatory law provides otherwise. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

You are solely responsible for anything you create with the Service.

Browser-local processing. The Service runs in your browser and the data you are editing is held in local memory. Due to the way browsers operate, a program error, network issue, shortage of device resources (such as running out of memory), a browser crash or an accidental close may cause loss of or damage to data you were editing. Please export your results after important steps. Subject to any mandatory legal requirements, we are not liable for such loss or damage, although we continually work to improve the stability and reliability of the Service.

11. Breach and remedies

If you breach any provision of these Terms, we may, without compensation, take one or more of the following measures:

  1. issue a warning and require correction within a set period;
  2. restrict or suspend some or all functionality;
  3. suspend or terminate the account;
  4. void activation codes and revoke Pro Licences; and
  5. blacklist the relevant devices and refuse them access to the Service.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

The formation, performance and interpretation of these Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question as to their existence, validity or termination, shall first be referred to friendly negotiation; if the dispute is not resolved within 30 days after one party notifies the other in writing, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) under the SIAC Rules for the time being in force, which rules are deemed incorporated by reference into this clause. The seat of the arbitration shall be Singapore, the language shall be English, and the tribunal shall consist of one arbitrator.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from applying to any court of competent jurisdiction — including the courts of Singapore — for interim or conservatory measures, and doing so is not a waiver of this arbitration agreement.

Nothing in this section affects any right you may have to bring a claim in your country of residence where mandatory consumer law grants you that right.

13. Miscellaneous

  • If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • Our failure to exercise a right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
  • Notices we send you (including amendments, service changes and account actions) are delivered by publication within the Service or by email to your registered address, and take effect on delivery.
  • These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a reorganisation or transfer of the Service; you may not assign yours without our consent.
